About

I was found in a city park in Southern California without an ID and adopted when I was about one. I then moved to San Francisco with my new family where I very much enjoy the parks and beaches. I like all my neighbors and everyone around seems to like me – in fact, many neighbors greet me by name and I’m really friendly with our US Postal Carrier!  Occasionally I get to spend weekends at a ranch in Sonoma, and I’ve already toured much of the western U.S.

    Hey, Mr. Wally,
Sounds like you have a pretty good life. How do you find good leashholders out there? Those signs you see everywhere “keep dogs on leash” should read “be sure owners are leashed.” The social discrimination that goes on in our world is outrageous. It’s decanineizing! For example, dog flu is an epidemic in some places, but do those dog bigots care?
Hey, Mr. Wally, got to go, my leashguy thinks I need to go out to pee on a tree. Later.

    Mr. Wally,
Haven’t seen much of you in the hood lately. You must be on another trip to the south of somewhere (France, Calif, Idaho)? I have been only to the south of Filbert this year, but it has been interesting. There is a new guy that has moved into the neighborhood. His name is Duncan and he seems like a good man so far. But, hey we got enough guys in the neighborhood, how about some new young chicks like about 28 or so! That is like 4 for you humans that have to put everything into a human scale.
By the way Wally, if you are wondering who peed on the tree in front of your place – it was me! Remember, you peed on one of my main trees and it is hard enough getting your markers out these days for the females to discuss.

    Hi Mr. Wally,

It’s Anne and Crosby – great to see you this morning! Chris, please reach out to me so the guys can get into more street brawls! Also, a co-worker would love to know where you found Mr. Wally – she’s looking for a Wheaton. See you soon!

      Dear Anne & Crosby,
Sorry it’s taken me a while to respond…my life has been spinning a bit. Anyway, I just wanted to say I miss you guys! (especially Crosby!) And, to answer your question, I connected with my guardians through a breeder my guardians knew through their first Wheaten, Raleigh. (Sorry you didn’t get to meet him, may he rest in peace)…Raleigh’s “mom” is no longer in the business but you can learn about my breed and the association’s local rescue program at http://www.scwtcnc.net/scwtcnc2/rescue.htm. I know from experience that a lot of luck is involved in the rescue activity. (Depending on he circumstances, it can take a long time to get connected with a good match, whether you’re a dog or person.) The website I suggested has a lot of info on my breed, breeders, etc. It’s a fairly small community.

I would definitely be interested in taking you on a walk sometime or just hang out with you outside the library. I walk dogs every Saturday morning at the neighborhood park. I hope our paths cross again soon!

      Steph,
Thank you for the note – I enjoyed meeting you too! I’m out of town for a few days but am looking forward to seeing you too before long. Also, I’m planning to resume my blogging now that I’m back into a more normal routine. I know I need to be better about writing so you and my other friends know better how my life is going.

      Warm Regards,
      Wally
